"It was unfortunate he got injured," Marchand told his team's website on Sunday. "I did go under him, but I felt the base contact was at about his hip point and that's usually a pretty legal hit from what I've seen in the past."

 

The Jets lost the first two games of their current four-game road trip by a combined 11-3 margin, but Winnipeg rebounded with Saturday's overtime victory in Buffalo. The Jets are 6-10-4 as the visiting team this year compared to a 14-6-1 mark as the host.
